The Wriggles
Calais
The Wriggles sing about humor, the absurd, and those little truths that really hit home. Through their songs, they depict the world as they see it: it makes you laugh, cringe… and sometimes even moves you to tears. For this new tour, the band is celebrating 30 years on stage with a show that’s just like them: free-spirited, offbeat, and as exhilarating as ever. The setlist features recent tracks like “Aimé,” poetically absurd; “Sboudibou,” surprisingly electric; and “Barbeuc Party,” decidedly festive—as well as classics such as “Poupine et Thierry” and “La Petite Olive.” A unique world, a poetically absurd blend of humor and poetry that transcends generations with undiminished energy. Price Category D: €18 | €16 | €14 | €9. Seated concert.
Wok'n'Woll (Pestacles!)
Calais
A violinist and a pianist take the stage for a recital… but very quickly, everything goes haywire! Great classical masterpieces are transformed into a funny and offbeat world, where slapstick comedy takes over between the two musicians. As the notes unfold, the space transforms, drawing young and old alike into a clownish world full of surprises. The melodies intertwine, echo one another, disappear, and reappear, while the performers play, juggle, and have fun with the music. Having already performed in the first editions of Pestacles!, they’re doing us the honor of returning for this 10th edition! A musical show brimming with humor and whimsy that shatters the boundaries between classical music and imagination. Hilaretto Company. For the whole family. Theater. Running time: 1 hour 15 minutes. Tickets: €6 for children, €10 for adults.
